How do I benefit from User-defined columns?

The user-defined column feature allows you to create your own notes, criteria, values, flags for each fund you are researching to assist you in refining your mutual fund selection process.

Steele Expert allows you to create your own columns and enter into them your own information/values. An example of that is the “Comments” column which is really a user-defined field. You can create such columns by choosing “Menu/Database/Create a User Column” and providing a name for the new column. User-defined columns are of “text” type and can be used for filtering. To type or copy a value into a field of a user-defined column simply double-click on it, enter the information, and then press the “Enter” key. Before exiting the Expert, you will be asked whether you want to save such entered data in your User.mem file.
